…which is pronounced “sharn,” (it’s Welsh, if that helps you cope?) and I’m a CAPM-certified community, communications, and cat herding (AKA management) specialist.
Two forces in particular have directed my career journey: storytelling and empathy. The former inspired me to explore photography, writing and content creation. The latter led me to rewarding experiences in film festival theatre operations, teaching kids science, and social media community management.
I’ve worked for myself, film festivals, advertising agencies, and even a multi-sport games event. I’ve produced fashion shoots, social media campaigns, art-based science experiments, TikTok scripts, knowledge repositories and workflows, and medal ceremonies. I’ve worked on teams and led my own; built relationships with clients, stakeholders, and customers; wrangled actors, toddlers, and gold-medal athletes (not all at the same time). In other words: adaptable, resourceful, and endlessly curious.
Storytelling and connection inspired my focus on communications roles for the past decade. In that time I’ve defined brand voices, engaged audiences, and produced meaningful content for some really great companies. And while I’m a creative first and at heart, my approach is all left-brain: process-oriented, foundational, and colour-coded.
The skills and experience I’ve developed throughout my career(s) are incredibly fluid and adaptable to roles within communications, customer advocacy, client relations, operations/logistics, and product/project management. (See LinkedIn for a full history.)
In 2014 I founded The MUFF Society, an online community and screening series that championed women and underrepresented groups in film/TV.
And this one time I handed Daniel Radcliffe a Diet Coke and he said “thanks.”
